Baby Boy Da Prince -- Across the Water
It's been a little while, but now we can add another good rapper to the New Orleans area. Baby Boy Da Prince's first single "The Way I Live" is getting a good following and definitely a catchy song. The album sounds like a new take on what Cash Money albums were sounding like in the late 90's, even including former Cash Money beat maker Mannie Fresh. So far hip hop music has been quite dismal this year, but BBDP has released a pretty good album to change things. Now this album is not phenomenal in any means, but definitely stands out. Most tracks are loaded with good beats and plenty of horns. BBDP even goes as far as writing the song "Rich Boy" partially sampling the chorus from Hall & Oates. This album is for fans of the old Cash Money and people still doing the Nolia Clap.
Standouts: Naw Meen, Lock Me Down, Rollin to Det, Rich Boy
